The Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHR) Program helps you or your
child learn ways to make positive changes in your life. The services
and support will help you through your recovery and to become more
resilient when faced with challenges in your life. The program is
funded by Medicaid and administered by the Office of Mental Health (OMH).

The program can help you make new friends, perform better in school
or at work, get along better with your family and friends, improve the
way you feel any time you become sad or nervous and help you find other
programs near your home that can assist you with finding a job or paying
your bills.
These services are offered by public or private MHR agencies,
throughout the State of Louisiana, and funded by Medicaid. You decide
which agency will provide services to you and your family.
In the MHR program, you will be part of a team which includes
social workers, counselors, community support workers, nurses and
psychiatrists. It is important that everyone work as a team to
provide the best help available to you and your child.

You don’t pay for MHR Services. Louisiana Medicaid will pay the
agency you choose for the services you receive.
