DHH offers training sessions to providers statewide to broaden their understanding of MHR program practices and standards. Network Services staff coordinate training activities including subject matter, schedule and logistics. Pre-registration is requested/preferred for all training sessions/events.

Types of Trainings and Events

Standardized Training

These training sessions introduce, describe and/or clarify specific information, processes and/or forms. They are offered in various locations throughout the state for all provider staff including program directors, program managers, LMHP staff, MHP staff and paraprofessional/support staff. Topics include but are not limited to: Rating the LOCUS & CALOCUS, Conducting an MHR Assessment, Developing an Effective Individual Service Recovery Plan and the Roles and Responsibilities of a Community Support Worker,. Critical aspects of good clinical practice are included in each training session.

Practice Sessions

Practice sessions offer staff who attend a standardized training module another opportunity to review/discuss specific information and spend time practicing what they have learned through the use of MHR case scenarios. These sessions are also offered in various locations throughout the state for all provider staff including program directors, program managers, LMHP staff, MHP staff, and paraprofessional staff.

Mandatory Workshops and Meetings

DHH periodically offers sessions which are critical to the quality of MHR services. Failure to attend may result in a sanction.

Provider WRAP Sessions

DHH conducts quarterly meetings to provide program updates/information. Sessions are generally offered in three locations and all providers are strongly encouraged to attend.
 

Important Note:

If you have questions regarding a specific authorization denial, contact the Service Access and Authorization unit. Training staff does not develop policies, procedures, staff orientation material, quality improvement plans or other program material required by DHH and accrediting organizations for individual providers.

Continuing Education Units:

Most training sessions are pre-approved for Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), licensed Graduate Social Workers (GSW) and undergraduate Registered Social Workers (RSW). Non-licensed, paraprofessional and/or support MHR staff who attend training sessions will receive a general certificate of attendance.
